GitHub Issues and Jira

Connect an issue destination and control automation for failed tests.

Open Project setup → Integrations in the project whose results should create issues. Configure the destination before enabling automatic issue creation.

Connect GitHub

  1. Create a GitHub token with access to the intended repository and permission to create and update issues.
  2. Select GitHub in AegisRunner.
  3. Enter the token and repository as owner/repository.
  4. Choose whether failures should open issues and passing tests should close them.
  5. Review pull-request comments and commit-status options separately.
  6. Save and verify the destination with a controlled failure.

Pull-request comments and commit statuses require their applicable permissions. Review GitHub token guidance and your organization policy when choosing the token.

Connect Jira

  1. Obtain an API token for an account that can create issues in the target project or space.
  2. Select Jira in AegisRunner.
  3. Enter the Jira host, account email, token, and destination key.
  4. Set issue creation and resolution switches.
  5. Save and check a controlled failure reaches the destination.

Use the short destination key, such as QA, rather than its display name. The account email and token are used together. See Atlassian authentication guidance.

Maintain the connection

Check token expiration, repository access, and destination changes when automation stops working. Keep credentials in integration settings. Inspect the actual issues and run evidence; a display family does not by itself establish the external issue grouping.
